1972 Spencer 51/53

Price: 130000 CAD

Looking for a timeless hull form that was designed when all round performance and safety were first order of the day...These boats were designed at the height of families heading off into the far reaches of the Pacific before the internet and Amazon. You took what you needed to last a year at sea in areas that were remote.

The Spencer 53 was a hallmark in her day. 30 of these great sailors were ordered and built locally, and most have sailed an amazing amount of miles. Prumir has been offshore and to Alaska many times. She is fully capable of going again. If you are looking for a boat that is able on any point of sail this is a great platform for you. Excellent tankage and most importantly she has ample storage. Prumir has had only 4 owners since 1972.

Prumir had a major refit in 2020 to 2021 so she is capable of comfortably traversing big seas and long passages, and she has a low hours 2021 Beta 85 HP engine, wiring replaced as needed, sails have been inspected and she has a newer North jib plus new standing rigging and chain plates. Updated for her latest offshore passage, she needs a little refresh here and there but she’s mostly ready. She has done Vancouver Island and the then back up to Haida Gwaii and back single handed in the last few years. She sleeps 11 in 3 cabins and salon. But can be very comfortable for four to six, and easily sailed by one. This is a great platform to invest in and then head offshore like all  past owners.
