1992 Beneteau 445

Second owner imported to canada in 1998 and has had continuous repairs, maintenance and updates.  We are still completing a few small projects aboard, but sneaking these details up so prospective next owners may have input.  

Highlander V - the story / summary

To quote a local shop* - “We can say that generally, there are no “homegrown” repairs on Highlander and the repairs** commissioned by the owner (ours and other repair shops’ appear to have been done to a professional standard. The boat is well used and well cared for.” 
 Certainly, decisions made in the care of this boat have been with a do it right and long term view. The rig was removed with new standing rigging in 2008. Through hulls were replaced in 2017.

Reviewing the records and talking around the community, it’s clear that this boat is looking for another great owner who appreciates that boats need care and attention.

1992 Built as a Moorings 445 (built in Marion, SC, in service Caribbean)

1998  Purchased by current owner, transported to British Columbia

          Liferaft certification 

2000  North Sails - Gennaker purchased

2001  North Sails 130% Genoa

2002  DC refit - major upgrades to electrical system

          Install MaxPower 80 bow thruster

          Install autopilot

2004  New hot water heater

2005  North mainsail

          Battcar system (mainsail handling)

2008  Mast pulled / new standing rigging

          Mattresses replaced

2009  Aegis Marine - marine survey

2011  Addition of electric halyard winch (port side)

2012  Hoses / exhaust system overhaul (mechanical)

          New holding tank, y-valves and related through hulls replaced

2016  Canvas re-skinned

           Insurance survey (Reliable Marine Surveyors)

2017  Major haul out with 6 remaining through hulls replaced with Buck Algonqui

           Updates included valves and pipe adapters

           New plywood with epoxy backing plates installed

           Removed and replaced propane locker, checked steering cables
